Coach Gayla Arvin has been actively involved in coaching youth volleyball for over 8 years. Coach Gayla is Impact and CAP I certified and is in her 2nd year of coaching at Metro.

She has coached at St. Francis of Assisi middle school for the past 6 years where her past 4 teams have won the PAA tournament championship. Prior to coaching at St. Francis, she coached at St. Columban in Ohio. Gayla loves teaching middle school-age girls solid volleyball fundamentals while developing their passion for the game.

Gayla played volleyball for her high school in Indiana where she was a varsity starter her junior and senior years. She played volleyball recreationally at Indiana University and after graduation continued playing volleyball in co-ed leagues and tournaments in Ohio. Outside of volleyball, Gayla stays active playing tennis on USTA teams in Memphis where her various teams have advanced to the state and sectional levels.
