Coach Chez Colter

Coach Chez is currently in her first season at Metro. She grew up playing volleyball in Austin, TX where she began her club volleyball career in 8th grade. Coach Chez played club for Austin Metro and then later moved on to AIM (Athletes in Motion). She got the privilege of playing at the Junior Olympics with AIM 18 in Salt Lake City, UT at the age of 16. She played at Round Rock High School (15-5A) where she lettered three years and earned numerous awards. She led her team to the state tournament two out of the three years. She made 1st team All-District (’04,’05,’06) and as a sophomore she was announced Districts Most Improved Player (’04). Her Junior and Senior year she was team captain, team offensive player of year and Districts Most Offensive Player (’05,’06). Her senior year she was District MVP and made All-State Honorable Mention (’06).
After a successful high school career as an outside hitter she earned a scholarship to a small school in west Texas called Abilene Christian University. Later she transferred to the University of Mississippi where she eventually decided to walk-on to the volleyball team. After one year she earned a full-ride scholarship and got great experience playing for Coach Joe Getzin. She is currently in Memphis pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has experience coaching summer youth league in Texas, and summer camps at University of Mississippi.
