Hawkins prepped at Lexington High School in Lexington, Tenn., where she helped lead her team to back-to-back district, region and substate championships in 2007 & 2008, along with berths in the Tenn. State Tournament both seasons. Hawkins served as team captain for both of the state tournament qualifying teams. Hawkins play earned her a number of individual accolades, including being named to the all-district team four consecutive seasons. She also earned district all-tournament honors in 2006 and 2007, while being named to the Tennessee All-State Team in 2008 and all-region MVP in 2008.
