Kristen Evans signs with Trevecca

Kristen has been blessed with some wonderful mentors in the field of volleyball.
Pam Barron is a
special friend and started her in the game as a freshman. Pam then introduced
Kristen to Jitka
Okolicany who was monumental in not only training her as a volleyball player
but took the time to meet the needs Kristen had as a young teenage girl. Kristen
had excellent coaches with Metro who she said "Taught me all the skill
levels I needed to develop into a better
player".
Kristen has has just started her Senior year at Arlington High school. So far
she has been named to the All-Region and All-District teams, along with the
Best of Preps in her high school career. She also is a member of the National
Honor Society with a 3.78 GPA.
Kristen has grown up around the game. Her older sister Elisa, also earned a
full ride college scholarship and now coaches for Metro. Her younger sister
Carolyn, has played on Merto's Elite teams for two years and plays along side
her in high school. Her mom is also a coach for Metro.
As stated in a recent magazine article "With the way the family is going,
it looks like volleyball fans will be hearing from the Evans clan for a long
while".
Kristen
Evans signed a National Letter of Intent to play for Travecca University in
Nashville. Kristen was given the offer at the end of her Junior club
year with Memphis Metro 16 Elite team. She had a number of colleges interested,
yet felt assured the LORD led her to Travecca. Coach Scott Jones stated that
"Kristen is very experienced and has excellent skills". He feels she
will give them the height they need to compete at the national level, and will
make an immediate impact on the Travecca team.
