Roxanna Wood Domimates in River City Classic
Roxanna Wood shined for St. George's when they needed her the most this past weekend in the River City Classic. Roxanna and her squad found themselves playing a tough Munford team led by Sr. Scarlet Gable(who is committed to Belmont University) in the Championship game. With the outstanding play of Scarlett Gable, the Munford team took the first game 25-19. Game two was a battle for both teams but St. George's squeezed the win with a score of 27-25. Game 3 is when Roxanna Wood decided to display her finest skills! The opening point of the 3rd game came off a kill from the hand of Roxanna, she then went back to serve and fired off a pair of back to back aces! As if that was not enough in the next few point she also added 2 assist to help her team to a 7-0 lead. The play from Wood took the fire out of the Munford team and St. George's cruised to a 15-3 victory!
