Over 300 girls attended tryouts for the 12th Annual Junior Olympic Season of Memphis Metro so far.  On November 2, 2011 you will have the last chance to join the teams at make-up tryouts. It will start at 5:30 PM.

The tryouts consist of skill-based drills, and team competition. Each athlete will be thoroughly evaluated.  Based on their skill level, each individual player  will be placed on an appropriate team to assure correct and effective development of their volleyball skills, techniques, as well as understanding the game strategies. The tryouts are NOT designed to eliminate any players. ALL players will be placed on a team to be part of our  Metro volleyball family. Many players of our 12's - 15's  category start as beginners - players in the early stages of their development and progress significantly over the course of the Metro season to make a dramatic impact on their teams in their respective schools.

Following are age definitions for USAV team divisions (click here to download the age definitions). To determine the correct age division, scroll to the second page of the link and please find the Month of Birth in the left column and then the year of birth in the same row. Make-Up tryouts for ALL age Divisions are on November 2, 2011, 5:30 - 7:30 pm.

Tryouts will take place in our new 30,000 sq. ft. Sports Academy at 2950 Brother Blvd., Bartlett, TN 38133

All players trying out have to be registered members of USAV. The registration is done online  ( click on this link). Please choose Memphis Metro as a club of choice from the pull-down menu if you are sure you will play with us. After registering online at USAV site please print:

1. USAV Membership Card (when registering there is a link on left upper side)
as well as
2. Player Medical History and Release Form
than fill in on Metro web site following form
3. Memphis Metro Tryout Registration Form (click to fill in & print)
4. Tryout fee $50 if mailed before October 16, 2011 (check or call Liz with CC information 901-340-0171)

Send these 3 forms and payment to the address Memphis Metro, POBox 2287, Cordova, TN 38088.

We strongly recommend you to pre-register for tryouts in order to save time and money since on-site registration fee is $70. As an added bonus, we will draw one lucky winner from pre-registered players to have their tryout fee credited to their training fees for the 2011-2012 season.
