Day 6 of the move
After such a great job by the metro crew in previous work days, Metro's crew took a break while the tile layers came in to put in the new floor (the new tile floor that is). After a day the tile from the entrance to the office and meeting area had been laid! It looks AWESOME! Like always the Metro M was laid at the entrance giving a pretty big statement that "THIS IS METRO!!!"
On Day 6 of work starting bright and early once again. The rubber mats needed to go down in order for the courts to go down the next day. One by one the mats were laid down and rolled out. One team laid tape on the floor side and the other team taped rubber mats together. Roll after roll, tape after tape, the floor was slowly covered for the first 3 courts to be laid tomorrow. This was an all day process as the AM crew left, the afternoon crew was slim, but then quickly revived by the Evening crew.
The mats had collected 5 years of dust and dirt that needed to be cleaned before the courts could go down again. We left that job for Jitka. With leaf blower in hand, it was off to the races on getting those mats clean!
The mats were finally finished and clean with a little time to spare! Next challege....
The goal was to have the first court put together and centered so that we could build off of the court with the crew tomorrow. The trick with the first court was it had the basketball lines on it. So just like a big puzzle the pieces were laid out, and finally we got it put together.
Overall a VERY successfull day! Back at it bright and early tomorrow.
