Great job to all of our teams in the Metro Play Day! All of your hard work and efforts are paying off!  Metro teams are looking strong and ready to take on the competition at our MLK tournament!

December 10th, 2011 will be a day that Memphis area volleyball players, coaches, and parents will never forget. 2x Beach Volleyball Gold Medalist Kerri Walsh lit up the gym with energy, enthusiasm, encouragement, and pure brilliance! Every person in the gym listened carefully as Kerri told her story about how she became the olympian she is today and how she is still learning more and more everyday! 
The clinic consisted of two and half hours of all new drills in passing, setting, defense, and hitting! After a brief demonstration, players went off to their court and Kerri Walsh went around and worked 1 on 1 with several players! Throughout the day you could see eyes glowing and giant smiles as players dreams came true as Kerri interacted with the players.  Kerri Walsh was such an inspiration to all of us! She is more than a great volleyball player, she can teach the game, and more than that she knows how to inspire those around her to be the best player and person they can be! She is an excellent role model to all ages and such a wonderful person! 
All players left with autographs, pictures, and memories that will last forever! On behalf of Memphis Metro and all involved we would like to thank Kerri Walsh for taking the time to come to Memphis and spend the day with us! All of Memphis Metro will be cheering Kerri and her beach partner Misty May on their road to full-fill their dreams of Gold in London! GO USA!!!

Former Metro star Hannah Kurtz continues her successful carreer with Christian Brothers University as an outside hitter. Hannah Kurtz (Fr., 5-10, Memphis, Tenn.) was the Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this season! Memphis Metro is very proud! Great job and keep up the good work!
